Tons of stuff for you to search on this topic. You'll need to replace or recalibrate the laser. Go with replace.

What chip? Should be a flash not chip. Your laser is probably dead. replace the laser or the drive.

thanks ppl spoke to a realy nice guy after some looking on the net and going to have my driver changed, rather then just the laser as i have no knowledge of soldering and just easy for me to just change the whole driver !

Replacing the laser on a Liteon drive doesn't require any soldering. It's an easy job and is a lot cheaper than paying for the whole drive to be replaced. There are loads of tutorials (http://www.pothsprojects.com/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=535).Thats the one i used a few weeks back.Hope it helps.
