What are you using to post that message?

Doesn't the thing you're using do a 1000x better job of everything you just listed than both PS3 and 360 for no cost other than your standard internet access?

just for the record, there is only one cross platform game i know on the market right now (PC/Console) and that is Shadowrun for the 360. So UT3 would just be following in the steps of something that has already been done. Too bad Shadowrun sucked. As far as using mods from the PC to the PS3, well i guess that appeals to certain people, to me it makes no difference. But since you do not even need a PC to get this content (it can be uploaded and downloaded from the game servers) I do not see why the 360 could not do the same thing. I mean Microsoft is a computer company after all. But tournement style shooters like that are just a big snooze fest as far as i am concerned. Just a bunch of people running around shooting each other. Nothing different then Halo online, Painkiller online, Half-Life Deathmathch online and so so many others.

I agree about Halo though, After playing all the Half-Life games on my PC i really did not find much in Halo that was new and exciting for me, so Halo 3 is not even on my need to have list, although the new Half-Life is. It is nice to see that the PS3 and 360 will get Half-Life 2 and HL2 EP1 in October. Hope they can port it properly. They did a fairly good job on HL2 when they had it on the Xbox. So i am interested to see if it has many improvements when they bring it out on the 360. Now i just need to find news on HL2 EP2 for PC.

As far as everyone and there "why pay" attitude. I use to feel the same way. When i had Xbox and used the free services like XBconnect and Xlink Kai i could not image why people would pay for Xbox Live. Well then i got my 360 and my free trial and all that went away. There really is a difference worth paying for. It is worth every bit of $50 a year. And as far as the type of people online there are many many more jerkoffs on free services then pay services. As well as many more people who find ways to use cheats online and ruin everyone elses fun. It also depends on what games you play. Like DOA4 you can find a lot of annoying types online. Yet i play Rainbow Six Vegas about every day and rarely do i run into annoying people. Probably because it is a thinking mans tactical shooter and not just some mindless shooter so people do not stand for the junk you get on most games. Everyone likes free, but $50 a year is not a real big factor for Xbox Live lovers. I figure most people can afford thirteen cents a day to play online.

Actually no. I don't have tv or movies or music videos because I have a very very old and bad laptop :/ 2002 But that's beside the point
The point was if your someone who can't get all of that stuff in one, then it would be a better buy.

Yeah that's the main thing that ticked me off about XBL, you pay the subscription so you have the right to pay for more stuff, because u have to buy maps to play halo 2 online (without the stupid random game mode thing that is) it feels like you are playing a demo of Halo 2 instead of the full game you purchased (I still prefer Halo to Halo 2).

Like i said, off topic. That statement was obviously false, and sounds like it came from one point of view. And yes, we've heard the story of how it's not free >_> stop repeating it it's getting rather redundant...

EDIT: XBL does offer some free content. But PS3 makes you pay for it too for some games.

Well I'd think that they would have to make you pay for somethings... PSX games were never free, although I do have a modchip in my PSX so I can't really make a comment like that lol

I fail to see how this is off topic , and there are very few add ons that cost money on the PSM and they were all made after the game has been put for a while, not released with the game as a way to make money off the Add ons. Besides they are more like an expansion pack and don't effect online play like the ones for Halo 2. For the most part the things that actually cost money (and not points that you BUY) are separate games or PS1 classics. And that's for an entire game not some map pack.

hey guys, that was before... halo2 maps are all free now, even the 2 that used to cost $5, theyre free! Go check right now if you want, and there is no problem downloading them as I just did. But yes, it makes me mad when they require you to pay...still though, i love my 360 and live!!

Well that was a lie... I just checked my US PSN, and it shows that the only free add ons are in the MLB, Motorstorm, and Genji section. The other 5 pages charge you
And PS3 and 360 BOTH charge you for addons to the PSX ( 4 ps3) and Live arcade (360)
Also it is starting to get off topic because now it's turning into "well mine is better cus its free >_<" and "haha urs died"
    It's really getting pointless >_>

Daryl C you need to grow up a bit no one else on this thread has an attitude but you...This is just a disscussion. Just post ur opinion and thoughts, no need for childish remarks.

This is probably why all the PS3 VS 360 threads eventually gets closed...

Anyways XBL charges for content like movies , music, tv shows etc....with the PS3, you dont need to buy anything because you can upload media into the PS3 HDD. It is impossible to do that on the 360. You can stream media from a PC but that requires a wireless adaptor and Windows media center ,which either of them are free...

Like I said this is just a comparison...I never said which system is better or worse. If this thread is pointless then stop posting.

I find this quite odd as I have neither a wireless adaptor or use Windows Media Center and yet I stream music and hd movies to my 360. And for free.

And yet again... another wrong statement. I do remember downloading free maps for both Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War. I also remember a free episode of South Park in hd. And I'm sure there's alot more as I do very little downloading to start with.

And you don't have to pay to have the privilage to download from Live. You can get a Silver account which is free. You pay for the online gaming. And in my experiences, it's worth every penny. Some of you Sony fans go and spend $600+ on a gaming console yet you wouldn't spend what equals ~$.14 a day for online gameplay.

    Please...

Ya but do u think that all came out on Live in its first 9 months...everybody seems to think the ps3 came out at the same time as the 360, if annything ps3 had better stuff when it launched than 360.

I've yet to see anyone who thinks they came out the same time... if so then they've been living under a rock. And what "better stuff" are you refering to? It couldn't of been too much better considering all the (almost) weekly reports and statistics showing slow PS3 sales.

But don't get me wrong... I'm not here flaming the PS3. It's the people who post bad info or don't know what they're talking about that get's me. I bought a PS3 at launch. It's a beautiful machine. But I only kept it for 2 weeks then returned it. Resistance was far from being what it was hyped up to be. And I'm glad I did return it when I did seeing the lack of new releases available. Once a half dozen PS3 exclusives come out that I feel I must have then maybe I'll pick up another PS3.

Anyways, what's it matter which console does what... shouldn't it just be about enjoying your gaming experience?

Here's another one which will be debated forever. Sony says it's going to be exclusive. Sony's not making the game. It may be a PS3 exclusive THIS year but that doesn't mean it won't be out in '08 for the 360.

Holy crap, I dont really think that people think that the 360 and ps3 came out at the same time, Im sayin that there are people who compare the ps3 to the 360 as if it came out at the same time. And that is ur desicion to return ur ps3. In my opinion, and Im saying this in MY OPINION, the ps3 is the best console out...or will be soon...and dont say that I dont do my research or anything, cause b4 I bought anything i wanted a 360, than I decided to study the consoles a bit...and in the end I bought a ps3. Dont say I dont know what Im talking about cause i read these forms everyday not to mention a few trust worthy playstation sites that I visit on a weekly basis.

    CrisKahn2,
I have no attitude with anyone in here. I am simply sopping people from makig false statements. For example:

You can use the psp and pretty much anything to play files on the 360. Plus you don't use a wifi, you only need internet access. Windows Media Stream is free also, so check your sources on that.

And what exactly about my comment was "childish" maybe that part about saying what he was false, but that's it.. The only reason he was called out was because it was another false statement. It wasn't done personally or to appear childish.

Now back to your regular topic =)

Heres my list of why the 360 killz the PS3 even with Sony's sad of a try price cut!

1)You can mod the 360 and play back-ups online (this in my case is the number one reason to own a 360)

    2) XBOX LIVE = (AMAZING)

    3) The controller is quite like no other.

    4) Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell 5 (all exclusives..need i say more?)

    5) Soon to be price cut coming (this will make buying a 360 a steal).

    6) Games run smoother on the 360 (because the developers make them mainly for the 360 then port them to the PS3..ha Sony loses out).

    7) Marketplace (offers so much, like movie rentals, movie purchases, TV Shows, IPTV coming soon and much more).

    8) Most people playing on Xbox Live have an headset..(can't say the same thing for the PSN)

    9) You can send messages in game, chat while in game, invite while ingame etc. which Sony at this point still fails to let it's gamers do.

    10) 3 Year warranty service free (you can't beat that)..YES..3..YEARRRS!

I could go on and on but you'd be reading this for weeks, clearly Microsoft's Xbox 360 is the better choice at this moment...you'll thank me later once you start seeing all those PS3 games being delayed for MONTHS on end! If only you knew how long PS3 gamers had to wait for Rainbow Six: Vegas...LMAO..while 360 owners were playing that game for months and months. Thank you Microsoft for my easily hackable 360..you always come through!
