XBox 360 vs. PS3

you got ur calculations rong y would ps3 be the least powerful when it cost so much and yet there lossing money

 

Sony designed their CPU to have a peak power of 2TFLOPS but it wont be able to do that during gameplay!

Their spending money on the:

i)speed of the BlueRay drive! (its like buying a 2X DVD player before DVD 1X players have been released)

ii)The Hard drive,

iii)And the console has to support CDs/DVD's/Ps1 + 2 games and HD-DVD!

The BlueRay technology is going to cost them like more then half the value of the console itsself! But how will it make games better??

It wont, it will mean that you will have to wait longer for loading times since theres bigger textures and data to decompress! and if sony decides to make it a 2x Blueray that means it will transfer at the speed of a 6X DVD drive! (XBOX1 has a 5X DVD drive).

The only contribution Blueray will have to games is giving them more space! but who wants to make a game that takes up 100GB.

It wont make the graphics better

ok im not now talking the inside of either console but the looks i thought it would be an interesting convo.

personally i think the ps3 is an oval streched cut it into slices and cut a corner out of it
i much prefer the 360 but im not sure bout the face plate i think it should cover the sides aswell becaus you will be able to see them

also which if there are any games confirmed for ps3

Afterdawn should really set an age requirement, I always felt this place was a bit higher up, than drawing the type of kids as this.

 

How would they be able to enforce an age requirement?

Maybe new people signing up could scan their drivers licencenses onto their computer, and email them to AD as proof. lol

my slogan was what i made ages ago for my very first post about the PS3 tech etc that i posted.
meh, its history now, just ignore it if u dont mind.
by the way, erhmm i think "kids?" is a little silly.
i aint a kid im 17, and if thats a real kid according to u then thats just darn stupid. real kids are between age (3-12 years, anything less is a baby).
im practically an adult.

yes that is true, but some people speak out of ignorance and knock/judge people by their age too much, unacceptable if u ask me.
u cant just judge people by their age.
Some kids do know their stuff, at least we know we have some kids that arnt silly in society.

 

personnaly im just 12 and most of the numbers mean nothing to me although i do like good graphics and good ram but mainly all i care about is games

 

why all the fighting? with the release dates as far apart as they are, it should give us plenty of time to pay off our credit cards after buying the 360 and be ready for the ps3. Then you have the best of both worlds, and we can buy games as they come out that correspond to what we want to play. we would pay more for an Alienware system than what both systems cost but we end up with fewer games and more importantly, fewer truely fun games. I have an xbox, a ps2, athlon 3600 pc and a gamecube(for the kids), and have bought games for all systems as they come out, some for each system. Yes, ps2 has a more extensive library, but there are a few that are just on xbox and they are MUST haves. If you have to, just start saving now. $1500 should get you started with both systems and a few great games for each. There is no need to argue about it...both systems will sell millions of units and MS and sony will be very happy. I feel sorry for nintendo...they should really go the way of sega and just produce games for other systems.

yea i remeber when i was 12, bout 5 years ago now. all i got was pocket cash, bout £5 a week, birthday money and christmas prezzies and cash, ah those were good times.

well, i'm 29 and i wish i was still 17...alot less headaches and alot more pieces of ass. get a newspaper route or something if you have too!!! just find a way to own both systems, if you don't, i thing you're going to regret it in the future. I think that is how things are going to be from here on out, if you want the best, then you will need both systems, because there are going to be games that come out for both systems that are amazing, and you don't want to be stuck with one system when all your friends are playing another game on the other system.

my dad ordered my xbox a while ago now its secured, becus they ran out in ebgames and i ordered it a while ago, but since i live in south america ill get it like a week or two after he gets it u guys r lucky
