xbox backup creator tutorial

alright, so i just made a backup of a 360 game using the samsung drive and schtrom.

now i have an " image dvd" file and an "image1.000" file.


which one do i burn? and do i use clone cd or clone dvd?

 

pick the small image file. 'image dvd file' i would personally use img burn to write the file.

 

thanks, the first game i backed up worked without any problems.

now i'm trying to back up my madden '07 and well, i backed it up with 8 sector problems.. why would this occur?? and is it still safe to make the backup???

 

hello all , i bought 2 samsung shd-162c drives today from here

i can confirm that these drives are the c version !

flashed both with kreon`s latest V 0.81 firmware and the first one i tried with xbox backup creator worked perfect ( the other one i will use as a spare just in case . )

just thought id let anyone in the uk know where i got mine from if they need one , cheap too only cost £12.21 + postage .

hi , do you have the samsung sh-d162c dvd/drive flashed with kreon firmware ?
its what i use without any probs for xbox360 games .
you can use xbox backup creator or schtrom v.3 with the samsung sh-d162c ( kreon )

im just wondering if i need to backup my game wth is stealth xtreme 3.0 patch, all i know is u put the ss.bin in their.

 

yes I have samsung drive with keron firmware and i managed to burn fews games already ,but it seems to not come up on both xbc and scthrom which is weird I think it might happens after I update drive firmware on samsung driver disc or keron firmware has been deleted from dvd drive.

 

Hi everyone, I am a noob here.
I have the samsung 162c and pioneer 111d drives, still waiting for my dvd+r dl verbatims to arrive.
I have successfully backup one of my game (topspin2) to my hard drive, but I encountered a problem while backing up another game (fuzion frenzy 2).

I tried both programs schtrom v3.1 and xbc v2.3

the xbc said that it's an unknown partition...I don't even know what this means. =P

the schtrom said that the dvd isn't xbox 360 dvd-rom.

Have you guys face this problem before? If not, do you have any idea?

 

I have the same error messages from both programs when backing up Star Trek Legacy. I found elsewhere that someone had an issue with Gears Of War and rolled back a raid driver update, although I dont run the same drivers, and still have the problem. Help would be appreciated.

Ok this is where i am at the moment,

i am from the UK now live in the USA, my dad is still in the uk.

he bought a samsung sh-d162c dvd drive and also a pioneer dvr 111d dl burner, i talked him thru the flashing the samsung process and he got a copy of xbox backup creator.

he is trying to read and write an xbox 1 game, he managed to read the game into a new folder, but when he goes to write the game the start does not highlight it stays gray, he made sure the pioneer was selected in the dropdown menu,he put a blank dvd in the drive but can't start the write? please help

Many questions on Firmware, Types, Drives, Making Backups , How to and such For those that are having problems with firmware and Xbox 360 backups I found a great resource.
I have updated my firmware several times and was looking for a way to access the SATA port to flash my xbox360 without opening the case again and I came across this tutorial on exactly how to do that with a very common and inexpensive SATA cable. had this same error - made a separate post about it - of course I still have not found a way to fix it!!

 

the same happens with star trek , there is a fix well away for it to be backed up , and i know redline is working on a solution

Someone from another forum gave me link to this thread, I followed it and it was a successful back up.

 

My solution was using XBC, clik on the Unlock Drive button a couple of times, then extract the current partition instead of the whole disk using XBC. Then extract the SS, PFI and DMI to the same directory (again with XBC). Merge it all together using SS Merger 1.7b. I then burnt it with XBC. My Legacy backup copy seems to work so far.

 

Xbox 1 is if you're trying to backup an original Xbox game.

Xbox 360 is if you're trying to backup an original Xbox 360 game.
