xbox backup creator tutorial

OK I downloaded schtrom v3.1, But when I insert my 360 disc into my laptop it says no xbox 360 drive found? Do I have to plug the 360 into my laptop? I will be using a modchip in the 360. Please help

 

right, you should be able to find info on this using search, but anyway.
Your laptop drive will not be capable of reading an xbox 360 game as you must either purchase the samsung sh-d162c dvd-rom flashed with kreon 0.81 firmware or you must connect up your xbox 360 dvd rom via sata cable. the samsung sh-d162c is far easier as it is just a simple dvd-rom for your pc.

What do you mean by you are using a modchip? there is no need with the current xbox 360 as a simple drive flash is far more simple.

 

hi im a noob to this i have already downloaded shtrom360xtract v.30 and i also have the drive well when its reading the game it tells me when at 56 percent complete it gives me and error message
cant extract game.iso any help would be great thanks

 

any errors i ever get are resolved by cleaning the disc and then restarting the computer. (what game?)

ON THE MISC TAB SHOULD ALL THE BOXES BE CHECKED OR ONLY THE SOUND BOX SHOULD BE CHECKED?

 

you shouldnt have to mess with any of the settings. just use the default settings

 

ive tried everything you told me to do and it still wont work it will only go till 56% complete and error will still apear cant extract game.iso anything else i can do?

 

does the game appear to be scrached? if not i dont know what the problem could be. you can also try to use the xbox backup creator program if all else fails.

well i took my cd-rom to one of my friends house who has a desktop and when i inserted the program and the cd-rom it worked just fine i copied some of my games, and then when i went home i tried it on my laptop it did not work it failed on game.iso again then so my guess is it wont work on laptops? but on desktop it does what you guys recomend reinstall my windows xp on laptop or just get a desktop computer?

well im out of luck with new version went 56% and failed again and with xbox creator it tells me not FAT32

 

Is it that your hard drive doesnt support large files and when your iso rip gets to maximum file size,your rip fails. I have several partitions and mine will only rip to my NTSC partitions, failing part way through as your does when I try to my FAT32 partitions.

 

question, im trying to make a back up copy of crackdown, any help would be great ive backed up other games but this one is different form others

 

hello there im trying to backup crackdown with shtrom 360, i have all the right tools. as soon as i hit extract it will say no valid xbox disc in drive any tips will help, or any programs that i can use other than shtrom 360

 

quick questions do you guys know if there is any other program i can use i am having difficulties backing up some of my games or is it possible that there is a program to get the iso? any help would be great thanks
