Ok big prob, Running a modded xbox, the daughters never play on Xbox live but recently wehnever you boot up the box all we get is a message "updating xbox live" Then it says failed to update and sticks in a continuous loop on that screen. Its never been connected to a phone line or xbox live and now the girls cant play on anything. Tried everthing to bring up dashboard incase they altered something but cant get passed the Update xbl screen. Please help, or give me an idea how to clear it. We had the box modded so know nothing about remodding or anything.
how is it modded? did they softmod it or solder in a mod chip. If they used a mod chip you can get an auto installer disc called Slayer 2.7, reformat the drive and then use it to put all the dashboards and a lot of other great programs on it. It would pretty much be a clean start. Do you get this error with both start up methods. meaning when you turn it on with the power switch and when you turn it on by pressing the eject button.
Not sure on the type of mod they did, i'll have to open it up and find out about that one. And to the 2nd question yes, i've tried both ways and the same message comes up regarding trying to update xbox live. Then loops on Unable to connect to xbox live please try later. It gives me an ok box to click but when you do its just returns to the same screen. But i'll get back to you on whether its softmod or chip. And thx
