I have 3 dead controllers. First controller my son kept unplugging from the break away part of the cable and then it just quit working one day started saying in the middle of the game to reconnect the controller. The second controller is a Logitec Wireless controller and it quit working and was never unplugged from the xbox and does not have a break away cord on it as well. my third one is my last wired original xbox controller and it was unplugged a few times like the first one and it started saying it was unplugged and then stopped working as well.. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get these controllers to work? My wireless controller transmitter that plugs into the xbox flashes like it is trying to work and the controller flashes like it is trying to link up but it never does..
yeah changed with 2 new sets thinking maybe it was a bad set I replaced with.. This is very weird problem though. done this on 2 xboxs
Well, the wired controllers may have damaged wires inside the insulation from being tugged on. Has the wireless controller ever been dropped, thrown, or mistreated in any way? Does it still seem to turn on? Sounds like your son is a bit abusive with that Xbox...
strange.. I got the wireless working again I didnt notice the button to sync it up with the controller I hooked the controllers up to my PC though and got 1 working but it acted like it had a short in the break away part of the cable kept telling me to reconnect it so it looks like the break away part is bad on both
Well, if I were you, I'd just slice off the break-away terminals and solder all the wires back together rather than bother trying to get the terminals working again. If anything, the wires inside the insulation that connect to the terminals might've been tugged out a bit, and you could probably repair it if you really wanted to.
my sons two wired original controllers quit working, right at the end closest to controller is where they break from wear and tear, i took the controllers apart , cut the wire where the breaks are, spliced them back together, they work fine now! just my two cents!
