Hi, I used to have 2 dashboards, one was evox, and the other one was unleashx. Everytime i started my xbox, evox would come up first, then i had to press on dashboards and unleasx was there. I like unleashx more, so i decided to delete all my evox stuff. So i did, and when i rebooted my xbox. This xbox live thing came up saying that its updating xbox live, and it just stays in that screen. Please help me. The xbox can still read games; but i dont want to lose all my emulators and roms. If you have any suggestions please tell me. Or if i have to buy a new hard drive for it then ill deal with it. But if there is a solution please tell me. Thanks

Do you still have the game you modded with? try reinstalling the mod if you did not erase the game saves.

That's the sad part, I don't have the gamesave and I can't access my gamesaves either. Isn't there a cd I can put in my xbox and it will boot from there?, Like a softmod, that you don't need a gamesave?

First of all, this has also happened to me. When you say you erased all your evox stuff, you mean you wiped out your C:\ partitions, right? If so, your xbox's rom will read game disks, but their is no bootable dashboard, which is necessary to read any other disk. I need you to tell me how you modded your xbox in the first place. I will try to help you from there.

Yes, i deleted everything in C, I got my xbox modded with a modchip. Somebody in LA did it. I don't know the modchip name though. I learned how to softmod, and i softmodded a friend's xbox using a 007 gamesave. It installed Unleashx, I tried doing this to mine but it doesnt work, i need to put the save on my hard drive, and i cant access it. Please help me, I had lots of emulators and roms. Thanks

But the xbox is modded with a chip, correct? If so, you will have to open your xbox and find out what the modchip brand and model is. Look around on www.xbox-scene.com for tutorials on opening your xbox. The modchip is most likely under the DVD drive. That will make more sense once you open your xbox.

There are several different paths you can take if you wiped your C drive. First of all, if you still have the gamesave you used to mod the xbox in the xbox (its on the E drive, so unless you wiped the E drive, don't worry), simply put in the game you used to mod and then mod it all over again. I have done this many many times. Secondly, if you have a mod chip, you should be able to boot up a linux-based bios, ftp to the C drive all the orignal M$ dashboard files (which can be accessed by using an xiso unzipper on Slayer's Autoinstaller--just google it, or access Xbin's) and then set the modchip to boot up normal. These are the two primary methods. You may have to flash your modchip, which means that you have to know you modchip make and model. Hope this helps. Trust me, I've been in this position many many times. If you really get desperate, you can use xbhdm, but I can tell you more about that later if the other two methods don't work.

Who told you that? That is completely false. Tell me the game you used to mod and how you modded, and I can help you further.

So can you get any form of a dashboard? Does the program not install, or will it just not run at all?

OK. Give me all the options the installer has. Also, do you have a router? I probably won't be able to get back to you about this until tomorrow.

That's what I was going to get you to do... Please excuse me, I have recently had a lot of trouble with my hard drive. It died all of a sudden, and I have some other issues that I really need to take care of. Your installer should let you change ftp stuff, look around at the stickied tutorials on how to ftp. I recommend setting everything to DHCP and then just figuring out what your xbox boots up with, then just enter xbox:xbox@(wotever the ip it gets) in Filezilla. Get an xiso unzipper and a copy of slayer's autoinstaller. It has all the default C:\ files and folders, just ftp them over.
