i have an xbox that reports an error of 16. now from what i understand this is a clock or missing file issue for the dash. I am looking for a place to get the original M$ dash so i can restore the system and get this system working once again.
Get slayers from #xbins and there is an option on there to restore your Xbox C: to it's original settings. If you need any help w/ Slayers, let me know!
quick question about slayers. this will format the drive re partition it and install the original dash right?? i was given this xbox after the error occured. i do not have a back up of the original dash. i am looking for a decent mod ship that is prefered solderless. if this works then i will venture further with other mods. thanx for the help !!!

Yup, that's basically it. But, I forgot to mention above, you will need a modchip, or your Xbox softmodded in order to boot up slayers. So, your idea of getting a modchip is a GREAT idea! I would recommend going w/ the Xecuter 3ce w/ xapter solderless adapter. It is honestly the best chip made for the Xbox, and I have a great guide located here for it: http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=60 Now, I am going to tell you a cool way to save some money on the modchip, because it is quite expensive. Go to http://www.mod-chip.com and find the Xecuter 3ce modchip. You will notice that the Xecuter 3ce + Xapter solderless adapter is $79. hello again i am back i recieved the x3 chip and now i cant really get it to do crap other than boot me to a blue screen. i have looked around for bios flashes and i have slayers. but i cannot get slayers to boot up at all
i know this may be a dumb question can i load a 256k bios into the 2mb bank? with the dip switches on the front pannel i cant seem to get the chip to access the other banks. either its in 2mb mode or its read only....... i dont know if this is a sign of a chip error due to poor instalation, if the chip is screwy, or there is something that i am missing. i have tried to boot it by hitting power then the reset button to access 256k mode.i get the red/blue led's on the face pannel but it says loading 2mb. with the switch on the chip in bios protect its read only and with it off i get 2mb bank only no matter what the switches are set to on the front pannel. i tried all the switch combo's with the chips onboard protect switch on and off.
hello, 1st off thank you again for all your help pimp. sorry to be a pain. i have more questions. now i have the bios loaded to the executer 3 chip and i can move about the bios and see the HDD partitions via ftp. my chip gave me a log and pass to get to where i am now. i am unable to write anything to the HDD (locked or unlocked)with cute ftp and flashfxp with the chips log and pass. the log and pass xbox does not work as well as logging in as anonymous. i am trying to load evox Build 3935 to the c drive. i was wondering since i cannot write to the hdd with ftp will i be able to connect the hdd to a pc and write the files to the hdd that way. or is the format not compatable with pc format?
