I put a xbit modchip(solderless) in my friends v1.5 xbox about a month ago. Last night we were playing rainbow six with system link and it worked fine. Then today we go to play again and his xbox did the load thing were it could be heard on the tv but not seen. All the while it would continue to do the xbox load up screen. Load up then start the process all over again. I thought maybe it could be the hdd or dvdrom so i put them in my xbox and they worked fine. I put mine in his and nothing. Can anyone help me out as to what could be the problem? Could it be a motherboard prob? If so i am in the process of getting my cuz's xbox and wouldn't i be able to just take the chip put it in and flash it?

no it won't work with anything. it's like it's stalling when it goes to load. I don't hear that sound of it loading quickly that you can hear when it loads right. I waited over night reinstalled the chip and now when i turn it on it flashes green twice then goes to the red and green flashes. While still not getting anything on the tv.

This sound very bad. Do you suppose something is in there (once found a paperclip in my friend's box) there could be somthing bridging connections.

i ended up getting my cousins xbox put in my friends chip and so that worked. But when i put the factory hdd back in my friends old xbox you can hear it load but not see anything on the screen. then the green circle flashes red and green.

well you will need to unlock and lock that hdd to your friends motherboard, for that loud clicking sound, it sounds like your HD might be poopin out on ya....
