Hello all. Ok my wee brother is away for 3 weeks and im just after hoking out his old xbox for a few games of Halo. When I turn it on, it gives the error: Service required, call customer support and the number 05 at the top left. After googling i found this means that the drive is unlocked and I need to lock it again. It wont read disks so I assume I need to do something via FTP but how do I connect to my xbox when it needs to be on the dashboard screen for FTP to work? Also the front light flashes green to orange constantly.. is this a bois problem?
Is the Xbox modded? I'll assume it is, you can't unlock it without it already being modded! If it is modded with a Modchip, download 'Slayers v2.7' and use the 'Lock HDD' function.
Yes its modded but how do i connect to ftp if i cant get the dashboard up to set the ip? Also the front lights flash green to red with the chip turned on and green to orange with it turned off. And the xbox restarts twice with the chipped turned on before it stays on.
'Slayers v2.7' is a special boot disc designed for modchips! It WILL boot and allow you to rebuild your Xbox!

agree with above. It is best if you use it to completely format the hard drive, then reinstall all the programs on the Slayer disc. I know losing game saves is an issue for most people, but without a working Xbox what good are the game saves in the first place.
My slayers WON'T boot, I have burnt two copies, both on Verbatim dvd-R, one at 4x with finalising, and one at 2x without finalising. Both copies get an error in dash saying disc may be dirty or damaged. Where can I go from here?
