check this out... i have a ver 1.0 xbox... i installed an executer 2.6 solderless adapted chip.... flashed it via dvdrom... using the WRONG SIZE bios.... for some reason i dont know or want to know how... this unlocked my hdd.... anyway hdd unlocked NO MS DASH when chip is off.... i reflashed chip with proper size bios and installed evox with slayers auto installer...then i set about rebuilding the drive with slayers to factory settings.... i used configmagic before the rebuild to relock the drive ... now here is where it gets strange.... chip enabled i get evox dash and can play backups and do all usual stuff.... now CHIP DISABLED i still get evox dash and can still play backups... i even took chip out completely and it still works as if it were modded.... how this works i dont know but im not complaining... just thought i would share that with everyone
holy crap, that is the weirdest thing I have ever heard of. You have the Xbox thinking it has a chip in it when there is actually not. I think that is pretty sweet. Just sell your chip then seeing that you wont be needing it anymore, hahaha....
i used the chip in another box .... to see if the same happened again... but my modding experience has improved some what since modding the other box.... its been experimented on too extremes and i cant remember all the things that have been done to it.....
