will having a certain type of drive have something to do with the success rate of backups?? i.e. will some backups work better on a phillips or samsung drive than on a thompson drive (which I have), if so can some1 point me in the right direction for tut's on how to replace them? thx in advance.

i think they all work about the same, i had to replace mine and from what i read in the forums you have to stick with the same make as the one your replacing. so if it works for retail games something else is the problem
