xbox error code 5 ( please help )

    well today i have unlocked my hard drive by accident cause i was too lazy to do the remove the yellow wire and wait thing so i did it in the menu from my xbox soft mod and now i cant lock it anymore so i checked a couple tread on different website and then i searched around my HD and i found the key but when i used it to lock it it didn't work so then
    im here asking for help ( also i think the reason the HD key didn't work is because i had error code 21 from before and i used someone else's hard drive data to fix my problem and i am pretty sure the HD key is from his HD... but i am wondering if theres a different way to fix it instead of buying a mod chip to fix it because first i don't have money and i don't exactly trust websites much (so i never bought anything from the Internet))

    you unlocked your hard drive because you were lazy....
    without a backup of the eeprom.bin file that is both the laziest and dumbest thing to do.....

    build yourself an eeprom reader (unicrons eeprom reader tutorial) and read out your eeprom.bin file. or get yourself a modchip and read out your eeprom that way. that are the only (easiest) ways to get it to work again..

    well i have a copy of the guy i copied the hard drives file eeprom.bin

    Edit: if you can tell me what the hard ways are then tell me im desperate...

    if you have YOUR OWN eeprom.bin file, search for the hdm tutorial to rebuild your harddrive (you need the one that is linked to YOUR harddrive, not someone else's!! that will not work). it has pictures and is a great tut. , so any newbie can get that to work. search for the softmodded files on this forum, c4rn1 posted them (they work great!!) or use the original dashboard files in the download section.

    if you don't have your own eeprom.bin file, you need a chip or the eeprom reader

    well what would be the hard ways cause i dont have the tools for the eeprom reader and i dont have a modchip so please help i dont want a broken console that i cant do anything with ( oh and can you take the xbox graphic cards and motherboard stuff and use it for a computer cause that would be awesome and i would like to do that... and if i can is there a guide to doing it? )
