I just started trying to backup my xbox games and i modded the xbox with a matrix mod chip, evox bios v2.5 and i am using the sony drx-500ul to burn the dvd's. I found the evox dash v. 1.8.3285. following the tutorial i used xiso to make an iso image of this dash (which included an .ini file, a .xbe and a msinfo file and a folder for skins). I burned it using nero, disc at once, 4x to a few cd-rs (2 different brands) and when i place it in the machine, i get the message that the xbox can not read the disc. I have tried using a a backuped game from a friend which works fine so now i am totally lost. I just can't load the damn Dashboard. Can someone PLEASE help me out.. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!
    Thank you

    haxer,
i am in the same boat. have you found a way to make a bootable disk of evox 2.6? or 2.5? i downloaded the bios file but it was in a .bin extension. obviously this did not work, any suggestions? i wont offer you any because it would be like the blind leading the blind.

Are you sure you're booting with the EVOX BIOS? Which Xbox revision do you have? Also, as suggested, use CD-RW discs. Since you've flashed the v2.6 BIOS, I'm assuming you have the older v1.0 Xbox, which doesn't read CD-Rs.

i have recordnow dx and i cannot find that option. may you can tell me if this would work. i downloaded the evolutionx dashboard v1.8 from the downloads section and i used xiso to convert the folder to an .iso image which i then burnt onto a cd-rw with recordnow. am i going about it the right way?

Can you read the CD under Windows? If you can't, then it should be ok. If you can, then the disc was not burned properly.

You can easily burn ISO images with eg. Nero.

thanks ketola, i cannot read the cd under windows it's when i open the rom drive the contents are simply blank. unfortunately, i lent my xbox to my nephew so i cant check at the moment to see if it worked or not. but if what you say is true in regards to not being able to read the disk, it should work. thanks guys.

If I recall correctly, you should actually get an error from Windows, if you try and browse the disc. It should behave exactly like an original Xbox game DVD.
