    Hi,

5 days ago, my XBox began to have some problems, like not being able to power-up. So I have decided to buy a new one, since there was no place I could find where they repair those console, but the thing is, I dont want to lose my saved games, so I'd like to know what to do (which xbox modchip, should I buy, is there a way to backup directly from the Xbox harddrive plugged on a computer, etc..)

    Thanx In advance

The easiest way would be to get your current Xbox powered up and unlock the harddrive. THen just swap that harddrive into the new XBox and lock it to the new motherboard.
Or FTP your games to your PC and then FTP them to your new XBox.

For locking the harddrive use Configmagic. It's on all Auto Installer disc's or you can make a boot disc with just that on it to load from the DVD drive.

Do I have to buy a modchip for that, if yes, wich one will be the better one for my need?

Before you can do any of this you'll need a modchip.
What does your Xbox do when you try to power it on? Anything? It may just be a dead power supply which is fairly cheap and easy to replace without a mod chip and you wouldn't loose anything on the harddrive.

My xbox does not do anything at all when i try to turn it on.... I've check quickly in my box, but I did not see anything wrong... But maybe it's only the power suply (I hope so)

If it does nothing, not even attempt to start up, then my guess would be a dead power supply.
It's not hard to change and you can probably find one fairly cheap.

You can usually find them on Ebay or Xbox-scene.com
The v1 and 1.1 have a single row of pins and the v1.2 on have the 2 row plug.
