Ok I have a 1.4-1.5 version HALO LE XBOX....I have it softmodded now but this problem existed before the softmod. The xbox will randomly freeze either in a game or in just the dashboard. IT doesnt go a certain length of time before freezing. MY first thoughts were either the Hard drive or DVD Drive so I swapped out both and the problem still exists. I have cleared all cache and check for signs of overheating (such as making sure fan is working and checking for heat spots). I am lost I have no idea what else could be causing this. IF anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appriciate it!

    ***UPDATE***

I have just found all this white stuff splattered all over the power supply and am wondering if this may be the cause

Thanks much for the reply ....How can I go about checking the tempatures and turning up the fan speeds? I have the xbox case open and the hard drive and dvd drive sitting to the side of the motherboard rather than clutering on top and its still freezing. Baka0206 what exactally do you mean by warm it up? Let it just run on the dashboard for a while?

I also just now noticed that the power supply has white stuff all over it....looks almost like thermal compound but it almost looks like it was spilled or splatter all over the power supply...I will get a pic of it just gotta charge up digi cam batteries....Anyone think maybe that is whats causing it....Maybe a manufacturing defect...I was the first to open the box

^^^ Theres 1 pic ....that just shows the most of it....although the white stuff is all over ...this pic shows that it looks like its not supposed to be there....Anyone think maybe thats where the freezing problem may lie?
