Well..1 day i was playing my xbox, and it was fine..the next morning, i started it up, and it went the the big X and XBox under it. It sits there for about 20-30 seconds, then goes the the screen Your Xbox needs service or somthing like that..I read the error codes, but mine does not get one anywhere...The only time it has ever been opened was when that happend, my brother opened it up to see if anything was wrong with the hard drive...He bought another xbox, adn butt he new harddrive in the old xbox and it worked fine..we have never modded it yet.. Is there an explination for this? We now have 2 xbox's, but only 1 works..we hvae 5 kids at home and i owuld like to get this one working too so we can played linked..is there a way to fix this without paying $$$?Thanks Eric
Is the xbox with the error code one of the first produced? The first kernal had no error code. If not the code should be up in the top left corner. You can't put hard drives from other xbox's in another xbox without modding them so you can unlock the hard drive. No matter what.
thats what my brother did..he didnt mod it..he went to some modding forum and it said how to remove the hard drive..thats all he did..and yea it was one of the first...
Somebody found how to do this.....http://www.xboxscene.com softmod forums xboxhdm..and an app that needs registration that unlocks ata drives (no idea what it's called)
