hey everybody, once i get my xbox out of storage i want to start copying games and back them up to my xbox hardrive. i know i need a chip, i am going to get that. my question is i want to replace my hard drive with a bigger one. but if i do that do i have to backup all the files on the old drive then put them onto the new one? and also is there a certain drive i have to use? thanks a lot
ok, here is an easy to follow tutorial. http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=672 To get a copy of Slayer 2.6, or any other auto installer then you will have to find them on a torrent site for download. The auto installer will format the new HDD, and also has an option to install all the programs and dashboards you could need back onto your Xbox for you in about 2 easy steps. I think backing up your C: folder on the Xbox to your PC is a good idea, but other than that you should not need to transfer anything from the old to the new drive. As the auto installer will do it all. Here is what i mean. This is not slayer but they all have slightly different programs yet serve the same purpose. Slayer 2.6 is just the one i used.
