You would do better to follow the hdd upgrade tutorials and then ftp everything back onto the new drive. Cloning a drive only really works if the drives are the exact same make, model and size. imageX is a tool that was made for semi-commercial repairers who had access to stock type drives. By all means give it a go, but don't try with a valuable 500 gig drive because there is a fair chance of causing real damage.. dig up an old 10 gig hdd. You will still have to repartition after you fit the drive because it will be a true image, so if the drive is 8.6 gigs and you put that image on a 500gig drive it will still only be 8.6 gigs, the rest will be unpartitioned and inaccessible. .. hehehehe..
