is there a way to hook my xbox hdd to my computer and put files on it, then put it back in the xbox again? without action replay and custom dashboards and all that other expensive stuff? because ive already hooked it up to the computer, it finds it in the new found hardware thing and the device manager, but not on my computer. thanks for the help once again!!
You can hotswap hd to pc. The drive will have to be unlocked for pc to access it, so to unlock it you would power on xbox and wait for the microsoft logo to appear under the big X and xbox logo and unhook the ide cable from xbox hd (do not power off xbox). Plug ide cable from pc into xbox hd power on pc, and then use xbox 360 explorer to browse hard drive for files.
