xbox help please

    my xbox wont boot up the light stays red ,can anyone tell me what went wrong and how do i fix this problem,i am a new be ,so i would appreciate if i get a step by step instruction,or do i get a new one anyone please help

    We need more info! Does it have video\sound? Does it click? Have you modded it via soft or hard? Does it flash green at all or is it red solid from the start?

    i havent done anything to it it hasnt been modified it comes on green then turns red,i havent opened ,no sound no video

    Sounds like you have a bad eeprom image! You'll need to aquire an eeprom reader\writer by building one or buying one from eBay.

    Unless anyone else can shed some light on the issue!?

    how do u build an eeprom builder,and whats a eeprom ,like i said i am new to thisor whats an eeprom is that software or hardware,like i said it comes on green for 2 or 3 seconds then turns red while blinking ,i would reall appreciate this help

    Yeah, looks like eeprom, I had one yesterday!

    eeprom is chip on the motherboard that holds you're unique key! You can build one easily enough if you have basic electronic skills, however, then you need basic soldering skills, computer skills and balls of steel!!!

    could you just hook up a diferent eprom froma diff version xbox or no

    you could use different eeprom as long as u dont go on live

    But it has to be the same version eeprom!

    not really up to date im kinda a newbie so how do i get a new eprom possibly a tutorial or somthing
