XBOX LIVE and CHIP Disabled

    I install a xecuter 2.3 in my xbox and did not changed the hardrive. I have the locked xbox HDD. I wanted to play Midtown Maddness on live and I needed and update. When I returned my EVOX dash was up but the chip was DISABLED. I thought if I was locked and disabled I could play. Now with the chip disabled or enabled EVOX comes up everytime. What happened?!?
