I got xbox live all signed up but my dad wont give me his credit card number for creating a new account. I am asking why do they need the credit card number? and do they charge money for making an acount?
They ask for the credit card because when you sign up for xbox live or any other service like that, you are signing a digital contract. Since by law, minors can't sign a legal contract, they require a credit card number to verify you are eaither of age or you have your parents permission. So to awnser your question, no they don't carge you for the initial signup. But they will charge you every month or year depending on the payment option you set up. I hope this helped!
