You need to turn off your modchip before you go online. Just tell us what chip you have and we'll tell you how to disable it.

If u got an xecuter 3ce all u have to do is flash it with the 3294 bios off xbins and then under the X3 settings there is an option to reboot with chip off. Once it is booted while off then all u have to do is restart it again and the chip will go back on!!!

Or else you can just hold the power button down for 1-2 seconds while turning on the machine and it will disable the chip.

Many other chips (i.e. DuoX 2's, Aladdin's, etc.) have a BT point that needs to be soldered to an eject point on the motherboard. To disable those chips, just tap the eject button to start up your Xbox. The easiest way to tell that you have disabled your chip is by seeing what dashboard you load in to when you do not have a disc in your drive upon startup. If you have your chip on, it should load in to your hacked dash (i.e. EvoX, Avalaunch, Unleash X or whatever one you have), whereas if you have your chip turned off, it will load up to the original M$ dashboard.
