Hi all, and merry Xmas.I got my xbox modded a few months ago.I beleieve it is an X-ecutor chip because when i turn the box on a set of LEDs located on the chip itself turn red then blue. The box has always booted since its mod with a blue version of the original xbox "Flubber" screen then goes to Avalaunch where i can access my backups and emulators etc.It has worked fine without a single issue for months.A few days ago i unplugged the xbox from the wall to plug something else in,and never got around to plugging it in again for a few days. When i did i got the M$-dash requesting i reset the time,i just hit A. Heres the issue now,ITS COMPLETELY A NORMAL XBOX NOW.The chips LEDS turn red but never blue.Goes right to the M$ Xbox dash now, plays games fine as long as you insert the disc;but the backups and emulators are not reachable. The ingame reset function Left trigger, right trigger, back and black no longer works. It has occured to me that there is some sort of way to shut the chip off so you could play XBOX live.I have seen many modded xboxes with external switches, but mine has none.In fact that was a big deal when i got the box done there was no case mod.Sigh. i have read as many threads as i could to find the answer myself but i must admit i am baffled. It seems to me if the chip "fried" it wouldnt still light up red and the box wouldnt work just fine as a "retail" unit.Any help would be appreciated. THX and happy holidays
if it's an x3 check on the chip to see if the two leds are lighting up when you turn it on....you might have knocked the chip loose. then again I dunno.
thanks for the reply, but i said in my original post i can clearly see the red LEDS light up.The cool blue ones that indicated it was in its "hacked" mode never come on.
I remember reading somewhere that you could enable or disable the modchip by pressing the eject button to switch the xbox on.If I find that info I'll post back.
Check your D0 wire. I bet that is the culpret. As far as hitting eject... well, that is different for each chip. Mine Xenium boots to its OS if I power on with the eject button. And of course, if your chip aint working, the eject button will just start up the MS dash and open your drive.
if it's an X3 on a 1.6 there would be three wires soldered to the bottom of the mobo. One of them is the wire that tells your chip to boot to the xecuter bios. Check that one and see if it came off. It should be the grey one... ...might have been said before though.
