So Hello Everyone at Afterdawn Xbox One forums: This holiday season i decided to purchase a xbox one console. I purchased mine used for $190.00 u.s on Ebay as a broken console because there was honestly no way i was going to spend 350.00 for a console people where returning to the stores after black friday. This resulted in my tip's and tricks for the xbox one and a review here on Afterdawn. So lets get started: Xbox One Tips and Tricks for Beginners: 1. The Xbox One stops downloading a game with the error message installation failed. Solution: this error usually is caused by a glitch in Microsoft's operating system on the console. How to repair: 1. Turn off the Xbox One do not delete the failed installation. 2. Unplug the Xbox One for 15 min 3. Plug back in the Xbox One and you will notice on startup your game has indeed installed. Why does this happen??: Simple this happens because the o.s fails to find the correct digital code on the server to verify the games legit status. Once it downloads it try's to connect to a server to fast and crashes the installation the installation was installed correctly but a restart is required for the app to finish installing. 2.My Xbox One won't play a blu-ray disk or a game disk or a dvd movie. Solutions: This happened to my broken console let me explain my broken console was listed as a console that cannot read disks i thought the drives eject mech was jammed there are videos on youtube on how to fix this. However!!! My surprise was i got the console and updated it to the latest firmware so i could check live status before i tried to use my account so i wasn't banned in the process the previous owner left there account on the console so i logged into that profile and was able to see why it wasn't reading disks. A huge shock!!! I noticed someone couldn't read i guess in that house hold. Because they set the console to english/u.k not english/u.s and canada so not only was the machine region locked so was the account they transferred over. So i did a factory reset and tried the console with my account and set it up with english u.s and got online and installed games from disk no problem the console works perfect. so check your region setting's please before you try any other fix. A Review by Mr.Dunderhead Honestly i am currently not impressed with the console the console is slow and still bug ridden to the point where the ps4 and even the wii u look better the console still can't display in 1080p on lots of apps and games and is really buggy at times. And this is quite shocking considering its been a year and they haven't stabilized anything. Update: A new one from microsoft microsoft recommends to fix the installation error by disabling your routers firewall settings. Now wait a minute wouldn't that open you to hackers and malware and viruses???
Seems you hit quite lucky with someone elses incompetence.My step son has a one console in his bedroom.Not once have i shown an interest into what it can do.The only time i use it is if he asks for damn fifa points and i enter my password.As for your latter statement,why in gods name would anyone in the know let microsoft bypass security of any router? Surely this is considered "hacking" (if no consent is given).Even if they decided to go down the route of "agree to the terms and conditions" statement beforehand any sane person wouldn't allow such a circumvent.Again microsoft grasping at straws.
I know it made me concerned that they would recommend a drastic option like that. I can't even think about how many people did this and are getting hacked right now.
