I really need some help here... I was following some directions online on how to change to XBMC from UnleashX... My wife was at the computer doing the FTP stuff, and I was in the living room watching the progress on my XBOX. Seems she deleted the dashboard file. I now get the Error 13 message. I don't have a backup of my EEPROM , but I have a copy of the C drive, and I've tried all the methods to unlock the drive (IE hotswapping) but it still shows up as locked when I hotswap. Is there a way to get my xbox back? I don't care if I have to format the entire drive, I just need to get it back. It's actually my dad's, and he doesn't know I borrowed it yet. I don't wanna have to go out and buy a new one. Would a game that auto-updates the dashboard work to restore it? Microsoft want's $80 to fix it, and I could buy a used one for that, which I don't wanna do, since I'm on a tight budget... I would be willing to help with some Wii softmods for Virtual Console games, or homebrew apps... Please help!
Update... Tried the 007 Agent Under Fire softmod from the Memory Unit, and got Error code 21 after a screen flicker.
The problem was i couldn't load any non-MS discs, nor get to my dashboard to reload the exploits... I finally got a hotswap done, and was able to reload my C... I'll probably post a very good tutorial for people who haven't done hotswaps before, since all the one's I've read didn't help at all...
A friend just soft mod my xbox and I'm now my dvd drive will not boot up games. Dvd's work fine. It lets me copy them to my hard drive but not games! I've tried two drives and same thing. any idea's?
