Xbox support says I've been flagged but website says my warranty is still valid. Banned?

Haven't signed on since late October. I called tech support to check whether I've been banned and they said my console had been flagged (and he told me to go go xbox.com/consoleban). He emphasized that my console had not been banned but flagged. The repair request thing on the website says my warranty is still valid.

BUT I also had an outstanding billing issue: My credit card expired at the end of October and I never bothered to update the info since I knew I wasn't going to be signing in for awhile (my gamertag is deactivated for now on live until I pay the bill).

So I'm not sure whether I've really been banned or I was flagged because of not paying my Xbox live bill. Any thoughts?

 

sounds to me they are hoping you will pay the bill, and then ban you. there would be no reason to ban you if you already can not get online. i smell a trap.

 

if you return the console for repair they will just send it back to you...

accept the fact you got banned
