xbox to modem

i've had my xbox hooked up to a router, but now i want to connect it directly to the modem. i hooked up the cords correctly, but do i need to go into my connection settings on the xbox and change that dns or ip stuff, because it doesn't work.

 

do you use dsl or cable

 

well anyways you have everything set to automatic for cable and for
dsl because my cousin has it you have a ppoe settings something like that that has your dsl passwords if you have dsl you have to do that

 

just set all the setting to automatic and it should connect just fine on it own
