    Hey all,

    I'm new here and I just need to know one thing...

    HOW DO YOU CONNECT XBOX TO PC!!!

    I've read all the tutorials I can find and this is what always appears;
    [R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
    [R] Connection failed (Connection timed out)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

    If someone could help me through this step by step I will be eternally grateful.

    Note: I am a beginner so please explain things through.

    THANKS A MILLION!

    If you are hooking up xbox straight to a pc you need a crossover cable .If your xbox is plugged into a router hub etc you need the standard cat 5 cable.An offical xbox cable is a crossover cable so if you have that use it if it suits the method at which you are trying to connect.post back if you need more help.U also need a modded xbox which i assume you have since your ip is 192.168.0.3

    @tupac_2nd

    We need more information to help.

    How your Xbox is modded, how you are conecting to the Xbox, what dashboard did you install etc etc more information you can give the better.

    Also with the request for Private Messages that really shouldnt be done since this is a forum to help others and how would this help others that might be having the same problem you are if everything is sent in PM.

    If your chip is Evox then your probably using Evox dash.

    do these settings on your Xbox and it should work.

    Xbox settings: Set to Static IP then place the below in the fields.
    IP address: 192.168.0.3
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

    Computer setiings: To get to these you need to do the folowing.
    Start/Control Panel/network conections/Double click on the coenction your Xbox is coneting to.

    Then click on the properties button at the bottem of the window that comes up.

    Now double click on Internet protocol(TCP/IP) in the list.

    Now choose use the folowing IP address.

    Now fill in the below for the NIC settings for computer.
    IP address: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

    Now apply and save all those settings on your computer restart the computer.

    Now make sure both computer and Xbox is on and the crossover cable is conected and then run FlashFXP.

    The FlasFXP settings should be the folowing below:
    choose to connect and for the fields add this:
    Server or URL: 192.168.0.3
    Port: 21
    Username: xbox
    Password: xbox

    After you have that filled in then choose to conect and it should connect to the Xbox.

    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
    [R] Connecting to 192.168.0.3 -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21

    Static IP - Yes
    DHCP - Disabled

    These are the same on my xbox and LAN network;

    IP - 203.201.70.22
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0

    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.22
    DNS Servers - 203.82.183.44
    - 203.82.183.34

    But I get this message in FlashFXP
    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
    [R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=203.201.70.22 PORT=21
    [R] Connection failed (No route to Host)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

    When I'm connected to the internet (with the above settings), this is what happens;

    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
    [R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=203.201.70.22 PORT=21
    [R] Connection failed (Connection refused)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

    You cant have the same IP on both Xbox and Computer.

    IP - 203.201.70.22
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.22

    If the above is your settings for your Xbox and computer settings change to the following.

    Use the below for your Xbox settings
    IP - 203.201.70.22
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.20

    Use the below for your computer Lan setting that is conected to your Xbox.
    IP - 203.201.70.21
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.20

    Now use 203.201.70.22 to conect to your FlashFXP since that is your Xbox IP.

    If im understanding what your saying is right what your trying to do is connect to the Xbox with both IP's (computer conection & Xbox Conection) with the same IP adress and it cant do that. So try the above settings and it should work.

    First off, do you have a software firewall. e.g. stagonos or zonealarm??? If so you have to alow the to acces ports 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.200 (or whatever your routers ip range is). Or simply turn em' off while you want to connect. Same goes if you are doing a direct link, just enable the ip to connect to your pc.

    Thats my two bits, and thats what worked for me :)

    I've done everything above
    eg. turned off firewall (i'm using windows firewall SP2)

    My xbox settings are now
    IP - 203.201.70.22
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.20

    What about DNS server?

    My LAN settings are now
    IP - 203.201.70.21
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway - 203.201.70.20

    The first time i tried to connect, this
    is what came up;

    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
    [R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=203.201.70.22 PORT=21
    [R] Connected to xbox
    [R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

    The second time i tried to connect, this
    is what came up;

    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
    [R] Connecting to xbox -> IP=203.201.70.22 PORT=21
    [R] Connection failed (Connection timed out)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

    The first time when you conected did it connect and then did you place a Disc in your DVD drive on the xbox to start copying? If so make sure that you have auto-start disabled in the settings when you insert a game. Cause if the game starts or if your running an app on the Xbox the conection will be lost.

    No, there wasnt a game or DVD. Am i supposed to hook the xbox to the TV while im connecting to PC (coz an orange light comes up - not normal). What about the configurations for FlashFXP (passive mode etc.)?

    You need to have a controler pluged in plus have the wire that goes from the TV to the Xbox plugin to the back of the Xbox. You dont need the other end plug into the TV but you do need the other end plug into the back of the Xbox for your Xbox to actully turn on and load the dashboard.

    That is why it isnt conecting cause your getting a green orange flashing light saying somthing is wrong with the Xbox and it isnt booting up.

    So again nake sure you have a controler pluged in
    make sure the A/V hookup is pluged into the back of the Xbox
    Make sure the crossover cable is pluged in.

    OH...MY...GOD! It worked!!!
    Thank you so much (all of you!)

    I can see 7 folders *sniff* I'm so happy!

    *ahem* Now that's out of the way, how do i backup games (coz my hard drive is full).

    The problem was that
    1) windows firewall blocked it
    2) the TV cable wasnt in
    3) controller wasnt plugged in

    You will need a program called Qwix to make an xISO of the game to burn to disc. You can get the program at the link below.

    http://www.teamavalaunch.com/qwix/

    Once you download it follow the steps below to make an xISO

    1. You want to add a conection to Quix.

    [IMG]

    now set up the connection as shown below.

    [IMG]

    Now folow the steps 1-5 as shown below to set up Quix to make an xISO of your game.

    [IMG]

    Now once that is done its time to start creating the xISO for burning

    [IMG]

    Now all you have to do is use your burning software to burn the ISO file that was created by Quix. I use DVD Decrypter MODE/ISO/WRITE you can also use Nero by choosing to burn Image file.

    Hope this helps out.

    What if im creating a xISO (Qwix)and doing other stuff with the PC eg. browsing the net, downloading, will it affect the quality of the copied game?

    there is more of a chance that the FTP might be lost if your browing the net etc. Its best to just let it do its work
