I was wondering if there is a update available for the xbox system. I am havibg problems running some games and dont know why. The system is not hacked etc. The games are brand new with no visable scratches etc. Is there a firmware update or something? Any advice would be great.
How old is your system? There are a few new games out there that the older systems (no mods) will not play. PS2s have the same problem. I would say to check your lens on your DVD drive, but if your other games work ok... well, you get the picture. What I would do is mod it.
I can go live with my Xenium ICE. I just boot to the chip and tell it to load the TSOP (Retail bios), and it turns off the chip. It boots right up like it did when I first bought it. Live can't tell that I am modded or how large of a drive I have in there. I am sure the other chips will do the same thing.
up to date games are what updates your xbox, soo they should work. I dont really have enough info to help. What exactly happens? Maybe give Microsoft a call, may have to be them that fixes it.
Logik - Yes, up-to-date games DO update your dash. They don't update your firmware for all of your hardware, though. There are many games that simply will not run on older boxes. I hear about a new one every couple of months (my buddy owns a video game rental place).

Yea, well i have a 1.0 xbox and i have NEVER had that problem. I dont think that even MS would release a game that doesnt work on "older" xbox's. I think that if certain game dont work than there is a problem with the xbox, and not its age. Bottom line is jrg9662, if you xbox isnt modded and your having problems with it then its MS's job to fix it.
Well, I can't speak for you, Logik, but I have seen many Xboxs not be able to read certain newer games and read other games (just as new) perfectly fine. Keep in mind than M$ doesn't develope ALL of the games that are available on the Xbox. You can send it to M$ and have them fix it for 80-100 plus shipping, or you can spend less than that on a modchip. Then again, if you don't want to mess with M$ or a modchip, you can pick up a used one at any game store or pawn shop for the 80-100 bucks.
K, im not gonna start an arguement with you cause im not sure what the situation is with his xbox.(plus i may be wrong ..)
i am sorry to disturb like this but what the hell are we still talking about fixing xbox's when xbox 360 is out, sorry sudden outburst, lol
Logik- Sorry, man. I didn't mean to start an argument. I was just trying to show a different perspective.
