I bought my Xbox on the release date and I never had any problems out of it. Last night I turned it on and a screen came up saying my xbox needs service in about 4 different languages. The ring around the eject button is a solid red instead of green. My xbox is not modded or anything, and I have never opened it. I called microsoft and they told me to send it in and it would cost 79 dollars. Does anyone know what may have happened and how to fix it. Thanks. Nino brown
$79? wtf! cant u like get a used one for that much? well anyway you could try modding it to fix it, or you could take your box to the local gamestore and maybe they'll fix it for less than 79 friken dollars.
That message usally comes up when a moded xbox chip comes loose, since yours is not modded you BIOS data might have become corrupted, in which case a mod-chip would fix it. But im not positive.
