I have modded and installed a new dash on my box. Ftp'd a game I OWN to my pc's hdd. Used xiso, burned to a Memorex DVD+RW, and NOTHING. I burned with NERO and I cannot use primo(DVD- only). Are there any special configurations for Nero that I am missing? Is there any other software I can use to burn with that my give me better results? Oh yeah, my burner is a nec-1100a. Any advice would be truly appreciated.
well primo is -DVD R only as far as I am aware.....firstly why burn with nero?? secondly what version of nero you burning with?? DaOsT
Try Craxton with GDFImage.exe selected. Your DVD rom may not accept +Media try DVD-RW and CD-RW It would help to know what drive you have Samsung, Thompson, ect. Settings in Nero will not make a difference if you are burning an "image file" only difference it will make is if it is burned to CD or DVD. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]XBOX v1.1 with 120GB Seagate and Samsung SDG-605 --- Matrix with evox M7 PS2 39001 v7 --- Messiah 2 Pro HP dvd200e & Sony DRU-510A[/small]
I thought so... I have a thompson drive and my burner only burns DVD+ format. I will give Craxton a try today though.
My drive on the xbox reads cd-rw's fine. It's the DVD's I am having problem with. I am also going to update the firmware on my burner today as well. Is there any firmware updates for any of the components in the xbox?
Correction: I just opened her up to take another look, I have a Philips DVD drive, a Seagate stock hard drive, Version 1.1 Xbox, Matrix mod w/evox 6blue bios.
The Thompson drive is iffy at best! They die out, they also just get warn out and start having problems. My friend has had this happen to him on a few xbox but I don’t use my xbox as much as he does. You can get a moded Samsung PC drive on e-bay or buy the Samsung 605 xbox drive but that one only reads DVD-R not +. You can tweak the laser but that will most likely reduce the life of the drive even more. Your best bet is doing what I did and buy a new DVD drive. I here the Thompsons go for about $20 but they are not worth buying, get a Samsung pre-modified or modify it your self, the cost difference is around $100, so you may want to mod it your self. Don’t know much about the Phillips drive but I have never heard anything good about it. Hope this helps.
