I purchased a xbox to USB adapter (play-asia). I plug the adapter to my xbox and connected the Ext HD to it, but the xbox won't recognize it.
I tried a NTSF and Fat32 HD. I want to use the external HD to play video files on it which exceeds 300gigs.

    xbox v 1.1
    xcuter modchip 2.1 I believe.
    Boots to XBMC

IF.. you had bothered to read anytintg about the xbox OS you would know you have just wasted your time and money... you can only play games and video and anything else from the internal hdd.. the so called "usb" ports on the controller ports are just that.. controller ports.. which happen to have some limited cross functionality.. like keyboard and mouse.. if the application supports it... NO big external usb hdd.. doesn't work.. and will never be made to work.

Hey man, I tried the same thing and it doesn't work. I belive there is a 4 gig limit on usb devices. I have a 4 gig thumbdrive I use to watch movies on "quicker than unpluging xbox and ftping" I bought a 8 gig and it won't work. Sorry!!!! You can never have to many hard drives though.
