everything was working fine until i connected ftp with my pc to the xbox. I had an evox boot disc on a cdrw but it would take about 10 tries for it to load and it was a pain so i tried to copy the evox disc contents to the xbox c drive. First i copied it to my pc then ftped it over to the xbox. Then i restarted the xbox to find that the original boot came up instead of evox. So then i realized i hadn't changed the original boot file xboxdashboard.xbe. So i did a stupid thing and deleted it without renaming the default.xbe (evox) to xboxdashboard.xbe. So now my xbox wont start :(...please help me fix this
    thanks

Get your XBOX to boot with the EVO X cd then FTP to the box and fix it

tried that...i think the only other way to do it is to take the harddrive out of the xbox and put it into my computer and transfer the original dashboard back onto it..thats the only thing i think will work. I would think that the evox thing would load but its not. When i start it up it says error number 13..something is wrong blah blah blah .. error 13= dashboard will not load..andthen thats it, i get a red green flashing light. I can't think of anything else to do :(

It shouldn't give you a error unless your boot CD isn't working for you. I know my xbox will do that if I dont have my correct dip switch settings on my mod chip set correctly. Ex: If I forget to switch my dip switch settings back after flashing the chip it gives a error and says I need to call microsoft for a repair.

i found out that i cant access the harddrive by installing it in the computer because its in a language that the bios of the pc can identify but not the operating system. So now theres no other way for the xbox to load. I even took a good harddrive from my friends xbox and put it in my xbox and it still didn't load and gave me an error 16. I think somethings wrong on the motherboard now too. Is there some jumper setting on the motherboard of the xbox to totally reset the xbox? im thinking that there might be. Thanks for your help..

No jumpers on the motherboard. I am not sure what to tell you.

Id make a bootable slayers install disk it always works much for me than the evox boot cd. make it on a cdrw and it should load. then you can ftp the dash back to your hd. or you could just format and create new partitions and just start over from the installer disk. thanks to slayer all is not lost.

i am totally screwed..i tried loading the evox a million times. When i load up the xbox it just goes to the screen where it says error 16..( i used to get 13) and the screen is glitched so all u can see is the error code and everything else is all glitched up. So maybe its a bad flashing on the bios. but it was working before, the only other thing i can think of is that the xbox's mother board went crazy and jacked itself up with the absence of the dashboard.xbe.

ck your pm. go to that site and download the slayers install disk creat a new bootable disk on a CD/RW then boot it then you can reinstall the dash from the cd. slayers boots much easier than a evox cd.
