I have my box upgraded to the 4.1a xtreme firmware. If i have an iso of an xbox 1 game can i just burn that to a dual layer disk and it will work on my 360 too?

Nope... needs to be ripped from the original using the same process as with the 360 games. Xbox 1 games need the ss to play on the 360.

I've always recommended schtrom because xbox backup creator was reported buggy on alot of peoples systems. But after I tried backing up "Black", I've switched to xbc for my xbox 1 games.

In schtrom if you click on the Misc> options tab you can set the drive type and the disc type. I did that, set it to 162d and xbox 1. But then the only way to get out of that screen is to "x" out. I did that and then reopened the screen and my changes didn't save. So I reset them, closed out hoping maybe it saves, and ran Black. It took about 20 minutes to get to 29%. I quit schtrom because none of my other games ever took that long, period. I ran it through xbox backup creator and it worked like a charm.

So long story short, try changing those setting in schtrom, or use xbc. Latest version is 2.3. I know it works with xbc. Change your setting in xbc under the option tab.

Oh, and they do still need to be burnt to a dl.

I see what you mean about changing those settings within schtorm. so i also tried XBC but it just gets stuck reading the security sector then i get an error message to replace all error sectors with 0000. Maybe it just wont work with my halo 2 disk :-(

Sorry, but can I cut in and just come up with one blunt question!

word has it you can't just download an xbox1 image and use Schtrom/xbox backup creator to extract all the info to be burnt and played on a 360?

It has to come from an original?

Yes, it must be ripped from an original Xbox1 game and burned to a DVD+R DL.

xbox1 thing is kinda pointless then. get the game, make sure its compatible, extract it, buy a dl disc, burn it.

But you can easily download a 360 image with like dvd decrypter aslong as your 360 drive is flashed

    its just so weird?!

I see it as pointless as well. If you own the xbox1 game, just put the original in the 360. But then again, some people don't *own* the game, they just borrow or rent it and don't have an Xbox1 to play on. Myself, I wouldn't waste a DL on any Xbox1 game. That's why I sold my Xbox to being with.

Xbox is still cool for me. Although, it will get A LOT less attention if any once 360 is fully hacked. Since I've still have my Xbox there's no way I'd even consider wasting DL discs on Xbox 1 games.

Well an xbox1 second hand would cost hardly anything seeing that the 360 is having all the attention.

um so anyway how would you burn a 360 image?

i hear alot about using dvd decrypter and changing the layer break etc... but i hear when you do that it crashes on 4% in and comes up with a I/O error. So you try....

    http://forum.xbox-sky.com/showthread.php?t=11282
...then use dvd decrypter but still 4% error?

Whats the real way of doing thia?

Well either way neither of them work.

XBOX 360 SS Merger says the files are (two matching green bars) ok, then i go to burn the file in dvd decyrpter (adjust the layer break)or CloneCD and get "failed to write"

4% in, and they are being burned at 1x

So let me get this straight. For my Xbox 1 "backups" I would have to burn them onto a DL disc for them to play in the 360? I thought that the 360 was backwards compatible and something like that wouldn't be needed.
