Hey guys, My brother's stupid friend spilled cola all over one of my controllers and as a result, the buttons are sticky and unresponsive, making it a near useless controller.

Is it hard to take apart a controller, clean it and put it together? Im asking because I'm no expert with limited experience and the last thing I want is to take it apart and not being able to put it together again.

Or is there a better method of cleaning up the sticky sugary residue in my controller?

    Thanks

This is about the same thing for the wireless controller. You have to have a t-8 security torx bit to open the controller though (search ebay or http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93388 ). Use some rubbing alcohol once you get it all apart, and it should clean up all the pop spilled in the controller. If you have a painted or treated controller or case it may not be safe to use rubbing alcohol on it. I used rubbing alcohol on my xcm black controller and it took off the finish in an area.
