I recently exploited my box using the Big fonts/ signed PBL hack. I still have the original 4034 {or something like that} kernel/bios {dont really know the diff } Well I put in FF's X-disk and installed it but one of the options was flash bios, I was all set until I read that they could kill your XBOX and since I didnt have a modchip I wasnt sure what it would do. Im fine with my bios but I really want to use XBtool because it allows me to change my LED color and the main screen "X" colors. My first question is what does flashing the bios on an unmodded xbox do, and if its dangerous is there another way to change the color of my LED from green to red. And my second question is does anyone have a tutorial on using XBtool for normal people because the one on there site is horribly confusing.
ok for a start you are using PBL so you are using BFM bios data as apposed to normal BIOS data. The flash BIOS option will simply not work unless you wire it up for a tsop.
I was talking to my friend who did it and he said he edits his eeprom, I assume that requires a modchip too? thanks
