A friend of mine bought his modded xbox pre-chipped with an executer 2.3 lite about 4 years ago. It came with a Maxtor 200gb HDD installed and running evox. Its ran perfectly since he got it until a couple weeks ago. He started having a problem playing games off of his HDD -they either stopped running properly or his xbox would just power down after a few minutes to about 20mins max from when he started playing. I have modded xbox's before always using xecuter chips, so i thought about it for a minute and figured it might be his D0 wire. I opened up his box and saw that the D0 wire was just barely holding on, it wasnt even holding with the solder any longer, just laying on its proper connection. I reconnected it and made sure there was electrical tape covering his connections. So after that, the initial problem was fixed. But a new problem was caused. Yes, it runs everything smoothly like it use to, but it the console will no longer power down. I knew that this was going to happen after i plugged the power cord into the back it instantly turned on. The only answers to this problem i have been able to find were all relating to a connection touching either another, or just something touching something that it shouldnt be. I've looked over it a couple times, and I cant see anything that may be touching another. So, I'm now stumped and asking for help. I have the feeling its more than likely something obvious I'm just over looking. Also, if it helps any, his xbox model is either 1.0-1.1 (with the daughter board) I appreciate any insight anyone can give me with this. MUCH THANKS!

i had the same problem, the power on/off button didn't respond anymore. i to had a v1.1. in my case, after retracing trace A it worked fine again. just have a look if you see trace corrosion, then retrace the corroded traces.

another solution might also be that you power on/off switch isn't working anymore and you should replace that one. but trace corrosion was my problem
