xecuter 2.3b lite

ok i am sorta new to xbox moddeing i have a 120 gig hardrive with a xecuter2.3b lite mod chip with the external chip, now for some reason when i turn the mod chip off and try to access the microsft dash board it won't boot it up, i get all this chinese writing from one of the other dash boards its really werid, but when i try accessing the ms dash from the evox dash board it won't highlight in the option where it says launch other dash boards, but if i go to the xbox file explorer and load the msdash.xbe it boots, does anybody know how i can fix it ??
