Can someone give me some clarifications and confirm what I'm about to do it correct?

My Goal...setup my Xbox version 1.0 with my new xecuter 2.6CE modchip and install my new 200 GB harddrive so that I can backup my xbox games and play them from the hard disk.

    What i've done so far:

Last night I installed my new xecuter 2.6CE modchip with my solderless xapt3r. All lights came on correctly after a few adjustments. And when powered on it booted to the blue bios 3.01 screen. (I DID NOT FLASH THIS BIOS TO THE XBOX YET THOUGH!) With the modchip off it boots fine to the green Xbox blob screen.

I also put the Xbox back together with my new 200GB HDD and the jumper set on "cable select".

I also burnt Auto Installer Deluxe 3.10 to a DVD-RW

    Now..MY FIRST QUESTION:

Do I need to flash this 3.01 bios to the xbox? Or because I want to play backup games...do I need another hacked bios? If I need another hacked bios...why do they even provide the 3.01 bios preinstalled?

If I do need a hacked bios....do I just put the Auto installer deluxe 3.10 in the drive? What do I do to install the bio from the disk? And which bios do I need?

    SECOND QUESTION:

To make my new fresh western digital 200GB harddrive work....do I need to partition it or format it, etc? And do I use a tool off of the auto installer 3.10 dvd to do this?

Is Auto installer 3.10 taking the place of EVOX? Or do I need to get that seperately?

Sorry for the simple questions....I've read about 20 tutorials...but they have confused me as they all say to do something differently...lol.

Heres what you need to do.

    1. Flash with the latest bios, you can use Evox, but because you have a xecuter you should instead use their own bios.
2.Boot AID, and use it to partition the drive.
3.Install whatever dashboard you want. (I use unleashX)
    4.Install any apps you want.
5.Use xboxhdm to lock the drive.
    6.Reboot.
7.Use dvd2xbox(which you should've installed) to rip games.
    8.Enjoy.

I just want to piggy back this topic.

My Xbox is currently at Error 16. I've read and did tutorials up the wazzhoo! Uplugging this HD to the computer HD REALLY FAST and retrying and retrying until frustration takes over and the poor dog takes the blunt of my anger!!!!!! (no animals were hurt in the process)

So my Xbox is pretty much toasted. I'm done trying to fix it via softmod variations. What can anyone recommend doing to save the xbox for less than the cost of a new xbox? Personally, I would like to be able to back up my games and put in a new HD.

Lets go with this. I have my 80GB HD sitting on the table. Along with my toasted xbox cracked open. I want the 80GB in the xbox. I want the xbox to play games that are backed up on CD. I'm done with the softmodding steps.

I'd rather just buy a mod chip and go from there. But does a mod chip automatically allow me to play backed up games? Or is there more beyond the mod chips to get the backed up games to work?

So in a nutshell. Xbox broke, want new HD installed, want new mod chip installed and ability to play backed up games.

    Anybody for hire here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stumbled upon the Xecuter 2.6 CE Lite Plus.

Says it: # FLASHED WITH THE LATEST VERSIONS OF FLASHBIOS!, Direct boot ALL homebrew, unsigned code, and original imports!"

Does that mean it would play backed up games?

You need to install a modchip and a harddrive. Then just download and burn a slayer installation CD....it includes everything you need to start backing up and playing backup games.

After installing the modchip....do the harddrive swap to fix the code 16. Then you'll get a code 13...on reboot. With your new big harddrive inplace...use the slayer cd to format and setup the new hardrive.

So theoretically, this Slayers cd could be used to fix the stock hard drive within my xbox? Along with any new hard drive that I wish to put in?

lol yeah, I'm only 15. but back to the topic at hand, slayer's will work also, I have used it, the only thing I don't like about it is, the fact that it hasn't been updated in over 2 years, so don't use it to actually install anything. Most of the software of that disk was fairly new when it came out, and the kinks hadn't been worked out yet. AID on the other hand is updated every couple of months. So the point I'm trying to make is, only us slayer for formatting, locking, unlocking hard drives, for everything else its obsolete.

I'm sure theking07 is right...the only reason I used slayers was because I burned about 10 copys of AID on various media and couldn't get any of them to work for some reason.

    LOL...I'm an old guy...I'm 34, thats why I needed help too...lol.

Well, I hate to repeat this but, burn AID on some quality media (Taiyo yuden, TDK, even maxell will work) and be sure to burn it at the slowest speed possible with a burner with its firmware at the current version. Also be sure to cold boot it with your xbox. And trust AID can take awhile to load, boot it up and go make a sandwich. It should be booted by then.

The Pirate Ace: "Okay...Not to be a total n00b here, but do you have to do any kind of modding to your XBox to get this to install?"

DJB: "Yes, you either need a modchip installed in your Xbox, or you need your Xbox to be Softmodded."

Opp didn't mean to post yet, wanted preview.

So this will all work, after I get the mod chip in first.

    Or

Is this for standard xbox too?
