well guys i always used to use wires when installing for other people(my install service is only 10 bucks for all chips, PM me if you want to have some done.),and put the chip by the controllers but i dont want to do that for my new GC. so I'm just going to do it just like on their site. can i put some electrical tape over the chip, after i solder it in, to hold it down? or should i use really thin 2 sided tape? just let me know what works for you all.

    thanks.....

Once it's soldered in, it's not going to move unless you pry it off with something. So tape isn't necessary. However, placing tape over it isn't going to hurt it either since it isn't conductive, so go ahead if it'd make you feel more comfortable.

And don't use 2 sided tape since the chip is designed to sit flat on the board, and placing anything between the chip and the board is a bad idea. Now, if you're just worried about it moving while you're soldering it in place, go ahead and use tape for the first few connections to keep it from moving and remove the tape when you're done.
