seems eveyone wants to give the wrong answer, and say "yes" its safe. anyone who believes "its 110% safe to go online either with a flashed console, or with xkey, wasabi, x360dock, or boxzii installed in their console is either "retarded or very misinformed.

I seriously doubt he was calling you a fish.... You were saying that anyone that believed that Live with either a flashed or modified console was safe is "retarded". Now that's offensive. Don't be a hypocrite, (I'm not calling you a name, just so we're clear).

Don't get me wrong lilpup, I agree with you 100% on the fact that neither hardware modified (xk3y, wasabi, etc..) nor flashed are safe on Live. We all know the risks. Most of us have a legit box for Live, and either a JTAG or flashed console to play offline. Let's all try to get along and help each other instead of arguing. That's what these forums are for.

 

No one in here said anything is 100% safe on live, dont know where you you got that idea from. All I commented on was your idea of opening up your box and removing your key everytime you wanna jump on live and that "Backup original Xbox 360 games to USB hard drive" refers to the key having the ability to rip your own original disc to your usb hard drive without the need for an 0800 drive. And the insane idea of injecting game isos into the marketplace where demos go. If you cant take constructive criticism then maybe you shouldnt be posting in forums, chum.

ok, where to begin. the original question was about playing original 360 game threw "drive mode" using emulators are safe. if you look at all the responses above, the answers were: Sure you can, thats the whole idea of bypass mode. You will be safe because your drive is not modified. . this is what i said "i have x360dock, and if i wanted to go online, i take it out of my slim 0225. (i make sure im gonna play a long time though)". you can, but do so on your own risk. <---go online. never told ppl to take it out, i said thats what i do.
i never said anything bout backing game to usb OR ejecting iso into market place (please reread post on who posted that). i took it from the xkey site about the center one: "live support", but included the other two, so i told ppl what is listed on the xkey website.

Yes, at your own risk. Nobody knows when M$ is going to drop the hammer, and who it's going to affect. We shall see in the future (hopefully not too soon). That's when these forums get flooded with new members complaining that they got banned, and ask if there's any way that they can un-ban their consoles. Most of us who have been around for a while have seen this on a yearly basis. It's been a few years, so I guess c4eva and team jungle have been doing a pretty good job, but never underestimate M$.

I believe it was fall/winter of 2008/2009. I got hit, but I expected it. I had played a game that wasn't patched properly. The game was freezing on me at a certain point in the game, and I thought it was my laser at first. Come to find out a few weeks later, I get the nasty message that over a million other users got. It still worked, but not on live so I sold it for $30 to a friend that knew and didn't care about Live.
