I have got know problems what so ever with XP booting up or even resetting or turning off. Yet on every single boot I get this message "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully" Could understand if it was not starting or something but it does. Any ideas?

About how long has this been happening / any hardware or software changes. Can you try system restore to a point in time that this didn't happen ?

I agree with Crab, also you might try running a good registry cleaning program like Regcure.

    Run loads of reg programs.

I don't think it likes my secondary hard drive. It did have bad sectors on it but have all been fixed since although smart scan at boot up don't like it.

The drive has unimportant files on it so if it crashes it crashes. Just have to wait until I get a replacement.
