Hi, My comp which is running XP SP2 keeps advising me that i have a update to carry out, i action it and it is for a Security Update for flash player, however each time it fails with this msg Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789) Failed. This happens directly after the install, i close it and S&D advises me of a registry change. I allow it and i have no ill effects as a result (that i have identified anyway). My virus software and Spybot S&D state NO malware ect is present. Any ideas on fault and possible resoultion? This might be in wrong section, but as i do not think it is a virus i thought this the best one. Many Thanks
Go into add/remove delete flash player then head off to adobe & get the latest player which at last count was number 10,before installing new player,run ccleaner "registry" delete old entries If you run IE7 you'll luv this little add-on,it's quite safe & won't affect speed etc,it can be set to automatically block flash on websites until you click on the flash window & unblock,it's a site password & fill form manager,download manager,tab sessions history the list goes on,if you're not sure about it check cnet & their user rating it's the 2nd link http://www.ie7pro.com/ http://www.download.com/IE7Pro/3000-12512_4-10649334.html?cdlPid=10986678 PS: Forgot you can download the KB as a .exe file you'll need to get to microsoft downloads & use their search,if you can't find rerun windows update & clik on the + sign of the kb there may be a link to it
