Hey, i got a pc that has XP Home and is spywared, i wanna start from fresh, i lost those OEM back up cds, the ones where its XP Home but a bunch of other crap. I wanna know if i use the XP HOme cd and the serial that came with the computer on the bottem will work. Is that serial only for OEM installs?
depends if cd & serial # are for the same version of home or not. if cd is sp1 & serial # is for sp2 than probably no. i tried original home cd with sp1 or 2 serial # & did not accept the #.
