XP Problems

    sorry if off topice slightly. my problem is this, I have just got a DELL inspiron 1525 pre installed with vista. Im wanting to install XP, but when set-up loads, its telling me there is no hard drives installed????? does anyone know what dell have done and how to get round this?

    XP is not compatible with all pre-built PCs - you ought to ask Dell if they will provide support for this particular PC with XP, as even if you do get the OS installed, finding the drivers may not be easy.

    thanks for the advice, i did contact dell shortly after i posted here, and the laptop isnt compatable with xp :(

    Yes, that's not to say it can't be done, but it probably wouldn't be very easy.

    yeah its not worth the hassle, vista sucks too much memory for my liking, prefer xp. but nevermind something I will live with. always got xp on main pc!
