xp will not boot after installing dvd burner

    I bought an external Extreme-8 dvd burner the other day. I hooked it up and installed the software...and now my computer is down! I can't boot up, not even in safe mode, because the arrow keys and the F keys won't work. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

    so..you get an error? blue screen? blank screen? what happens?
