Hi, I have some movies that I can read at all. VirtualDUB read video but not audio saying Unknow TAG 55 in the file property. But Gspot and AVICodec say all is right, the radium codec is here and can read this file ?? I have uninstalled all codecs (even the nimo pack 8) and reinstalled all divx, xvid, radium codecs (without nimo) ... with the same result. Any idea ??
Are you sure its a Tag55 error or Tag85 error? Try this mp3 codec: http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/11/1/2/11-1-2-10.shtml Here's a question: Can you play any mp3 music on your computer?
Ok, you should be able to play the file if it was encoded with an mp3 codec.... SO which tag error was it, 85 or 55?
The VirtualDub File Information says: Sampling rate: 48000Hz Channels: 2 Sample precision: N/A Compression: Unknown (tag 0055) Layout: 28108 chunks Length: 8095704 samples ... frame size: 288/288/288 Data rate: 96kbps The most surprising is that I already packed several XVID avi using mp3 for audio without any to problem to play.
Your movie's audio might have been encoded using the hacked wma audio codec that comes with the divx 3.11 alpha codec release. I had a movie like this and my regular mp3 decoder couldnt read it. Try this out and see if it works out for you: Download the Divx Audio Compressor http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec.html and extract the files. Then you register the codec.
Darn... Have you tried playing your file in Windows Media Player? Maybe youll be lucky, and the needed codec will be automatically downloaded.
Thanx for help guy, but I have (partially) solved my problem by: - uninstalling all codecs - reinstalling DIVX, XVID, Radium MP3 codec - force MP3 codec to be the first one in the multimedia configuration So ... playing works ... but ... ... VirtualDUB doesnt decode audio (that's anoying for me but I can extract the audio with another tool ...)
